iPhone Powergrade 📱

The iPhone Powergrade uses ProRes and ProRes Raw capture from the latest iPhone 16 & 17 Pro to reconstruct a clean, cinematic color base in DaVinci Resolve. I designed this node diagram to neutralize computational processing, recover smooth dynamics, and restore consistent color science, ready for a creative look.
With this structure, you can achieve a clean, controlled cinematic look while retaining the flexibility of RAW for exposure, white balance, and highlight management. Ideal for mobile images that need to integrate seamlessly into professional workflows.

• Natural and consistent, with stable skin tones and controlled saturation.
• Provide a faithful and creative interpretation of iPhone ProRes RAW to achieve a rendering that is both
• Soft in highlights, thanks to a gradual roll-off and a contrast curve designed for storytelling.
• Textured and controlled, with fine micro-contrast and optional grain to break up an overly smooth digital look..
• Versatile, ready for Rec709 and ProRes Raw

Thanks to the node diagram:

• RAW normalization → neutral workspace, clean gamut/gamma conversion.
• Basic contrast and high-frequency roll-off to avoid clipping and preserve detail.
• Precise skin tone management via selective zones and subtle chroma compression.
• Exposure tools and “first stage” WB to get the most out of RAW.
• Micro-contrast, edge cleaning, and non-destructive grain option.
• Rec.709 and HDR ready outputs, plus a flat output for stacking your looks.

Recommended usage:

• Shoot in ProRes RAW, expose slightly to the right without blowing out important highlights.
• Set the WB at the time of shooting if possible for consistency between shots.
• In Resolve, apply Powergrade before any creative looks or mood LUTs.
• First adjust Exposure and WB, then Basic Contrast, and finally Saturation and Grain.
